In 1964, Uriel Nielson planted Santa Barbara’s first commercial vineyard along the windswept Santa Maria Bench. Four decades later, our remote maritime appellation has become one of California’s finest regions for cool-climate grapes. The Byron estate is located on the site of Mr. Nielson’s original vineyard. We make regional and site-specific Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from these historic vines, plus a handful of other top sites throughout the Santa Maria appellation. |
