Monterey county was seeing stars during the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am golf tournament. Leading pros on the PGA tour teamed up with top celebrities to vie for a $6.1 million purse while competing along Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, and Poppy Hills golf courses. The week-long event attracted hundreds of supporters, fans, and A-list personalities including Justin Timberlake, Bill Murray, and Huey Lewis. The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am benefits hundreds of nonprofit organizations in northern California.
Since the tournament came to the area in 1947, over $73 million has been raised and distributed through the Monterey Peninsula Foundation. The Foundation is committed to funding organizations and programs that improve the quality of life within the community with a particular emphasis in the promotion of youth development and educational programs.
