One Winter Story

Wave riders and woman-power supporters gathered at Shell Beach's La Perla del Mar Chapel for a screening of the award-winning film One Winter Story, a beautiful and poignant documentary of the challenging life of big wave surf pioneer, Cal Poly graduate, UCSC graduate, PhD scientist, wife and mother, Sarah Gerhardt. Gerhardt and Filmmaker Elizabeth Pepin, of Frank Films, attended one of the screenings, offering an insightful Q&A session after the film. Also offering an art exhibit of photography and raffle prizes, proceeds from the screening benefited the SLO Women's Shelter.
