The French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) Foundation raised more than $145,000
for the Hearst Cancer Resource Center (HCRC) during its Share Our Dream auction
and dinner held at the historic Hearst Ranch and Hearst Castle®. The HCRC,
which opened April 5, 2008, offers patients access to cancer programs and services
under one roof and at no cost. Hosted and attended by members of the Hearst family,
the event began with a champagne reception by the Neptune Pool at Hearst Castle® and
finished with a gourmet dinner featuring grass-fed Hearst beef, a live auction,
music, and dancing at Hearst Ranch. Proceeds from the event benefit HCRC cancer
patients and their loved ones.
